Alf came to us originally from the animal shelter and we don't know much about his past, only that he was seized for some reason.  He is about 3 years old now and he happily lives with a female Dobie during his stay with us.  Alf is a fawn Dobie with a pretty good coat and cropped ears that don't really stand.  He is mostly a good boy but we have noticed that he doesn't like being snuck up on by strangers and will become territorial or defensive.  He will need an owner that can strongly advocate for him when out in public or in the home and someone that can help him learn better coping mechanisms for dealing with the unexpected.  For this reason, we do think a home without young kids is better.  He also spent a little time time in a home (2 days) but he became uncomfortable and defensive around one of the men in the home.  Alf will need time to decompress with experienced owners who are also willing/able to employ a trainer to help them thru the process.
