Doberman Pinscher

Bowe (Bo) is one of our darlings.  He's about 7-8 years old and was given up by his owner with a female dobie.  We assume they were a breeding pair but they don't seem especially bonded so we are looking for separate homes for them.  Bowe is mellow and agreeable with an easy going charm.  Though Bowe can be playful and sweet with other dogs, he can also be overly defensive when he is resting.  We aren't sure where that insecurity comes from and he doesn't seem to mean any harm but he will growl and snap at another dog if they disturb his resting area.  Bowe has been sweet with people but there is a chance that his defensive behavior might be transferred to small children if they bother him so we think he might not be good in a home with small kids. Bowe needs soft bedding for his poor elbows that have been callussed from years of hard surfaces and he has a touch of elbow dysplasia as well so a low-key lifestyle would be really ideal for him.

"Bowe is fairly new in our program, but he seems to be everything I love in Dobies: red middle-aged male, mellow, quiet, and submissive to his companion female."

"Bowe is such a calm, relaxed boy.  Easy going and great on his walks."
