Bubba is a sweet youngster who came to us after suffering a significant injury.  It appeared his leg had been broken and someone had attempted to splint it, poorly.  Unfortunately, it had already been in that condition for weeks (at least) when we got him so our options were limited.  We did consult a specialist that presented us with 3 options.  One was to amputate his injured leg but everyone agreed that was the last option.  Second, we could attempt to repair his leg but due to the severity, it would be extremely expensive with no guarantees.  Third, we could let his leg heal, as is, and see how he manages.  Bubba has been in a foster home for a couple of months now so the fracture has had time to heal.  He now uses the leg quite normally and doesn't seem to be bothered or painful.  It will remain odd and even though he is an active boy, he may self-limit his activity if he "overdoes it".  Bubba is about 1-2 years old, good with other dogs and loves people.  He's the happiest dog you'll ever meet despite all he has endured.  His ears were cropped but the jagged, short cut suggests it was a "home crop" and not done by a licensed veterinarian.  We absolutely love Bubba and even though he may look a bit different, he will be the most entertaining, devoted and affectionate companion.
