This is a courtesy post for a Dobie girl in the Oakland, CA area in need of a new home.  Please read about her below and you can contact her owner at arielwinger@icloud.com with any questions.

"I am heartbroken to have to re-home my special girl, but my circumstances have changed and I am no longer able to keep her.
Our beloved Cassie is a beautiful, 7-year-old red Doberman rescue, we have had for 6 years. She is very sweet and friendly and loves kids and most other dogs- though she can be fickle- if you have another dog, it would be critical to make sure the dogs get along. Cassie needs a lot of stimulation and exercise- she still has “puppy energy” and loves to play. She currently gets an off-leash hike and a 30-minute walk Mon-Fri and two walks on the weekends.
Cassie loves to be with her people and will follow you around. She can be “needy” and stubborn if she wants attention- barking or pawing. While she does sleep a lot, she can also be high energy and excitable. We give her CBD or wrap her in a Thunder-shirt if we go out for several hours to keep her calm and secure. With the pandemic, Cassie has gotten used to having constant companionship.
Cassie is well trained and obedient, though has trouble with recall, especially if she sees a cat she wants to chase. She will bark if folks come to the door but if they are friendly, she will lick their hands.
She is in great health, but like many red Dobermans, has a number of little growths on parts of her body- the vet has not been concerned. She is spayed and is up to date on all of her shots. She eats a grain free diet and does not do well with table scraps, though she is food motivated.
Cassie is looking for a home where she can run and play and be with her people- she seems partial to male energy. Ideally, someone who has the time, space or money to give her daily off-leash runs.
I am heartbroken to give her up, but can no longer give her the care she needs- we adopted her when we were a family of 4 and all pitched in with her care. I am now a single mom and while my son walks her 3-4 days per week, I pay to have her hike every day ($600/month) and simply can’t afford it. I am devastated to give her up but know it is the best thing I can do for her.
