Charro is a new arrival from an upstate animal shelter where he had no chance of adoption due to a bite history. We were told that he attempted to follow a child into a house and scratched the child, who may then have tried to prevent Charro from entering and was bitten on the face. It was stated and observed that he is overaroused in play, so the bite may have been an overexcited play bite, with the same result. Whatever the case, we are requiring an adult-only home for him. Loading and unloading the dog twice when we took him for neutering required lifting him and pushing him into a crate, and there was no aggressive behavior whatever from the adults doing so. A confident owner and a bit of training is highly recommended for this 18-month-old (as of September, 2018), 70- pound handsome fellow.
