Cherie is a darling, young, mixed breed dog who came to us from an animal shelter after being hit by a car.  She had a badly broken pelvis and an FHO surgery was likely once her pelvis healed.  We gave her time to heal and to everyone's surprise, her pelvis healed and her hips are healthy.  Unfortunately, her knee did develop some unexpected arthritis from the injuries.  She does use that leg but she favors it and it won't be 100%.  At this time, we are told it can't be fixed surgically and we are getting a second opinion.  We don't want to her to be in pain but amputating a large dog's leg when they are this young can be hard on the rest of the body so we really don't want to go down that path if it is avoidable. We have no idea what breeds she is mixed with but she is a large breed dog and absolutely beautiful. Cherie is very social, loves everyone and she's gaining confidence every day.  Her sweet nature is undeniable and we would love to see her get healthy and in a loving forever home.
