Chickie is a leggy youngster who was found as a stray and turned in to the animal shelter. We think she can't be much older than 1 so she's active, athletic and full of playful energy. She was quite scared and scary at the animal shelter with a very defensive attitude toward strangers approaching her kennel. She was sweet with one of the shelter employees though, often climbing in her lap, so we hoped it was just fear getting the best of her. Sure enough, she bonded quickly with our volunteer and has been nothing but an absolute sweetheart. We will be testing out Chickie in more social settings to see if she can handle new people in a healthier way. She has been very dog social during her short stay with us and we think that she needs at least one large, playful dog in the home to be her buddy as well as give her some additional confidence.
