Diesel is a new arrival (January 20, 2020) from the owner. Diesel unfortunately had an incident where he felt threatened and reacted accordingly, resulting in a lawsuit that made his owners uncomfortable about keeping him even though there was no actual bite. He was on a walk with one of the family members, and an unknown child rode up to him on a bike. The family member told the girl not to pet him but the child reached over and grabbed him around the head. He lunged at her stomach and left bruises. The child is the daughter of an attorney, and it cost Diesel's owner a lot of money to settle the lawsuit. Our assessment is that he is a good dog who needs a confident, conscientious owner who will not allow him into situations where he feels he needs to defend himself. He loved his home and was protective of it, but a high-stress, very social environment could be overwhelming for him. Diesel is AKC pedigreed, with a birth date of 8-21-14, so he's 5 years old and in good health. He's housebroken, good with "nice" dogs, cats, and kids in his own family. He crates well and is used to being crated but is also reliable indoors without supervision for hours at a time. Diesel knows his commands and has had fairly extensive training, so he'll make an excellent pet for the right home.
