Hey everyone...meet Hemi! This sweetheart came to us last summer along with the rest of her litter from a terrible situation. They were skinny, covered in ticks and many had suffered major injuries at only 5 weeks old. Hemi was the runt of the litter, weighing in at only half the weight of her siblings. We noticed some other differences between 8 and 12 weeks when it became clear she had vestibular disorder. It’s a balance issue that can either effect older dogs or it can be congenital like with Hemi. We are no stranger to the condition after dealing with many vestibular Dobies in the past but this was the first time we had a young puppy with it. They quickly adapt to their imbalance and they get even better as they get older so although Hemi will never be “normal”, she doesn’t know life any differently. Hemi is good with other dogs and good with people, though she can be shy with new people. She is playful, silly, sweet and an overall amazing dog. It took her some time to get used to the beach but she soon loved the water and had a great time! She is ready for a new home that can be patient, understanding and will lovingly accept her just the way she is. She can be at the rescue any Saturday for adoptions or you can arrange a meet and greet during the week!
