The animal shelter supervisor called Hickory "maybe the best Dobie we've ever had." Other than being a little underweight, he is a very handsome specimen of the breed, with a great temperament to match. Though Hickory had not been tested in a common area with other dogs, the supervisor said that he was easy to walk by other kennels with dogs, without the reactionary behavior many dogs display in these situations. Since his arrival, he is sharing space compatibly with two other dogs.
