Joe was impounded at an animal shelter after being picked up running at large and having been identified as a dog who killed a cat. As a result, he became "rescue only," and we had to sign an indemnity waiver promising to not adopt him to anyone with children or other animals. This seems a bit extreme to us, as most of the dogs in our rescue program would chase and kill a cat given the opportunity because our breed is prey-driven. However, in order to save Joe's life, we had to agree to the shelter's terms. Joe is calm and probably around 7 years old now. He doesn't seem to enjoy other dogs but he isn't reactive on leash, preferring to stay out of the drama. He's a quiet older fella that would love a nice meal, comfortable bed and some affection.
