Leo was rescued from an animal shelter and almost immediately adopted by a couple that housed him for a week, ultimately deciding that since they're around kids all the time and planning to start their own family, Leo didn't have a predictable enough temperament. For them, he was the "perfect" dog: housebroken, command-trained, not destructive, quick learner, and obedient. But...he bit their veterinarian when the vet grabbed Leo to check his neuter incision, and he attempted to nip a family member that intended to hug him. The adopters concluded that Leo has issues with being hugged, cuddled, and unexpectedly grabbed, so we're not recommending him for any home with kids or old people (because seniors have thinning skin); probably also not an ideal dog for a very social home with frequent visitors or strangers. Leo is so delightful personality-wise that his reactive behavior toward the above triggers should always be kept in mind. He's about 2 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.
