This is a courtesy post for an adorable mix that needs a forever home. He is currently in Bakersfield, CA but his caretakers made it clear they are open to any potential home within driving distance.

“My name is Lucky. I am a one year old altered male Rotterman (Rottweiler/Doberman mix) weighs 85lb. I was running around Eastside Bakersfield when a couple lured me with a can of cat food. They didn’t want to see me get killed by a car like many other strays around the town. They were a little intimidated by my size and looks at first, but soon found out that I’m a friendly happy puppy. They brought me to the Bakersfield City Animal Shelter on November 23rd 2019. I stayed there for more than a month waiting to be adopted without much luck. The couple felt bad for me to be confined in a small space for so long that they decided to bail me out and find a forever home by themselves. Currently, I live with 3 small dogs, 6 cats, and a bunny. I love going for a long walk and playing fetch. I like other dogs that are of all sizes. I’m very active, but respond well to commands of my owner. I sometimes forget how big I am, so I am learning how to be more gentle and learn better manners. I would like to be adopted by people who have experience owning large dogs and give me the daily exercise I need. If you are looking for a playmate for your big dog, I would be a great candidate!”
