Major is a stunning male who came to us quite emaciated originally but has long since gained healthy weight. Major is a big guy and he is probably around 5 years old.  We know his "look" will appeal to a lot of potential adopters but his temperament will not be appropriate for most people and he needs a very experienced home. He is a fairly serious guy who enjoys the existence of his owner and spending time with those he knows really well but not necessarily the constant touch from people. He needs a savvy adult home with no access to children and with all adults committed to training, rules and boundaries.  He has been good with some other dogs but he can also be aggressive so he probably needs to be the only dog in the home as well.  Major also needs a home without a lot of visitors and a safe place to be if people do come over.  He has never bitten anyone while in our care (he was a stray at the shelter so we don't have any history before us) but we have known dogs like him in the past and we want to really make sure that he goes to the right home where he can be happy and everyone can be safe.  He could easily reach 100 pounds or more so we want to be careful.
