Perdita is a 5-6 year old female who came into a rescue as a stray. It is hard to believe she just got out of her yard considering how docile she is and that she is mostly blind. Her eyes were the first thing we noticed and we went directly to the vet to have checked out. It turns out that the white is all old scarring from some kind of horrible trauma. We don't know if it was a burn or something else but it is permanent. She cannot see thru the white areas so the vision directly in front of her is non-existent. However, she can see peripherally where there isn't scarring so she isn't 100% blind. Perdita is one of the sweetest dogs out there. She is full of love, very social, and gentle. However, she needs someone patient who can help her when she's nervous about her lack of sight and can give her a very reliable home that isn't constantly changing. She is quiet and lives with other dogs but she has also clearly been beat up in her life, possibly because she ran into the wrong dog at the wrong time, so she needs really friendly doggie friends that won't overwhelm or hurt her. Perdita is a special girl and she needs a special home where she can truly be appreciated.
