Princess (known as Princess Red because there is already a Princess on our website) is a young, petite female who was surrendered to the shelter by her owner.  She's a little under a year old and quite small in stature, though she may still be growing a little bit.  She is super sweet with people and very dog social.  She does seem to gravitate towards other dogs that are similarly younger, playful and gentle so we would love to see her in a home where she has an appropriate dog buddy.  The shelter that she was at actually did a Von Willebrand's test since there was adoption interest and she was not spayed.  Her test came back and she had an extremely low clotting factor so the interested party dropped off and the shelter asked us to take her into rescue so she could safely have surgery.  She did have plasma given prior to surgery so a normally $100 surgery became a $500 surgery but she pulled thru and is doing great.  Her Von Willebrand's shouldn't effect her daily life very much but major injury and major surgery will need careful handling.  Potential adopters should do some research and have a good vet that knows how to handle clotting disorders.  Princess Red has been having issues with car sickness as well.  She wouldn't be a good travel buddy unless you can find a great product that settles her tummy and calms her nerves.
