We rescued Pumpkin on April 28, 2021 after viewing him on the medical alert list of a local animal shelter for almost four months. He’s mostly Boxer, but smaller, at about 50 pounds. Pumpkin was impounded at his animal shelter after being hit by a car, so there were tire tracks on one side of his body, and he had a blood clot behind one eye, which caused him to lose sight in that eye. He was initially thought to be blind, but he does have limited vision. Because of this, he’s a little tentative with other dogs and general handling because he has some difficulty reading body language. Pumpkin is believed to be great with small dogs, knows several commands, is playful, and walks well on leash. After seeing such a worthy dog not rescued for so long we felt motivated to be his last chance, and we’re glad.
