German Pinscher

Randy is a purebred German Pinscher who is about 6 years old and weighs 30 pounds. He's a great dog in most ways. He's housebroken, good with other dogs both large and small, good with kids, and friendly to all people. His unfortunate behavior is separation anxiety, which will compel him to go to extraordinary lengths to find human companionship when left alone. He can clear a 7' fence if left outdoors and if left indoors, he becomes extremely destructive.  Two homes that loved him dearly tried everything they could think of (including medication) to keep him calmer when alone but his only option is safe confinement.  Normal crates are not strong enough so we had a special, welded wire crate made just for him so he can be safely contained in the house.  He will protest and bark but he can no longer hurt himself or put himself in danger.  Randy's ideal home is with a family that can be with him as much as possible, preferably someone who is retired or works from home.  He will also need a home decent insulation from angry neighbors so his occasional barking when left alone won't be heard too loudly from inside the house.  Randy is really one of the sweetest and most amazing doggies so if his one flaw can be handled then he will make a wonderful addition to a loving home.
