Royale is a handsome, smaller male who recently came to us from an animal shelter. He was surrendered to the shelter, after having a couple different homes, for becoming destructive when left alone outdoors permanently. Royale is about 2 years old with a pretty blue coat. He became very territorial at the shelter and wasn't welcoming to strangers but with appropriate introductions, he warmed quickly to us. From what we can tell, Royale is actually full of potential but he will need an owner really dedicated to putting in the work required to unlock it. He is bright, active, and quite affectionate with those people he knows. He will need regular exercise and an inclusive home where he won't be abandoned to the backyard. He knows some commands but further training should be expected. His territorial behavior will also require a home without a lot of people in and out as well as an owner that can properly advocate for him and not demand he be friends with everyone. Royale has been non-reactive towards other dogs and he happily met a large female dog during his stay with us. Due to some of his behavior, we will not be placing him in a home with small children.
