Scarlett is a dog that tugged at our heartstrings so much that there was no question we would rescue her. She is 5 1/2 years old (as of November, 2018), a Dobie-Greyhound mix (definitely), and she was dropped off by her owner at an animal shelter. Her face was so sad that no thinking rescuer could abandon her to whatever fate would have befallen her after her shelter pleaded for rescue assistance on her behalf. Scarlett is a tall, lean girl who is a little insecure, probably having never been away from home before, but she warms quickly to a gentle, caring person. She appeared to have been a house dog because of her tender feet and loving behavior toward kindness. She's also an excellent watchdog. Unfortunately, Scarlett didn't work out in her last home because she was too unwelcoming to strangers and overprotective. Visitors were frightened by her and her owners couldn't curb the behavior. She is devoted to adults that she lives with but she will need safe confinement when anyone visits, even if she has met them before. She cannot live with small animals or other large female dogs.
