Smokey-Bear is a new arrival with us after failing for months to be adopted at his animal shelter. He has good training, he's good with kids, and he's a lot of fun. Smokey-Bear's only difficulty seems to be when he's forced to do something or refrain from doing something when he is super-excited. He passed his behavioral tests at his animal shelter, but he twice nipped (just a scratch) people when being separated from another dog; the first time in a confrontation over food, the second time over a toy. A third time he was pulled by the collar and he reacted with a nip. We do not feel that Smokey-Bear is at all aggressive but he will react mildly if overstimulated or forcibly made to comply. He'll be delightful to a strong leader that he respects, and hopefully with older kids that will play with him. He loves to play! We don't recommend him for a home with other male dogs or very confrontational/alpha dogs of either sex. Smokey-Bear is just over 1 years old, weighs about 75 pounds, and is probably a Doberman-Lab mix (he likes to play ball).
