Stewart is a young adult who came to us from an animal shelter.  He was very thin, scared and had an injured back leg.  It turned out that the injury was not new and whatever happened left all of his joints fused and painful.  He couldn't use that leg and the best thing we could do to get him out of pain was to amputate his rear leg.  Stewart handled rehab really well and thankfully, he's a small guy so he should be able to handle life on 3 legs pretty easily.  He is such a sweetheart, loves people and gets along with all dogs.  He is a bit of a sensitive soul and sometimes needs a little time to fully come out of his shell but once he does, he is very affectionate.  We placed Stewart briefly in a home with a bird.  He had no problem with the bird but the bird was NOT welcoming to him.  The noise and stress wasn't good for anyone so sadly, he was returned.  During his time in the home, Stewart was a really good boy.  His only negatives were that he was afraid of the hardwood floor and chewed a little bit on some carpet.
