Stilts is a new arrival (mid-October, 2019) from an upstate animal shelter, where a volunteer became very fond of him, advocating for his rescue and naming him Stilts because of his long legs. He is friendly and playful with large female dogs but isn't very tolerant of male dogs, according to his behavioral evaluation from his animal shelter. It is clear that he hasn't had much leash work and he seems to avoid being leashed, pulling strongly when he is leashed. Stilts knows some obedience commands and is treat-motivated, comes when called, and enjoys being handled. He is taller than average for a male and his age is estimated at 4 years.
