Tonka is a brand-new arrival whose owners love him but have a new baby, and he snapped at her once when she surprised him from behind while he was eating. There had been one other incident where he bit a relative who approached his adult owners without being property introduced. It is believed he was on leash at the time or standing next to one of his owners. We have found this VERY TALL and handsome 2-year-old boy to be quite a gem other than being a bit overprotective of his family. He is easy to walk on leash, good with other dogs, and very compliant. Tonka is said to be not good with cats but we haven't tested him yet. He has been an indoor dog and is not destructive.  Tonka will need an adult home with very few visitors and a plan in place so he is either properly introduced or safely kept away from new people.  He isn't a mean dog but fear is a powferful motivator for this big boy and safety for everyone, including him, should be most important.
