Doberman Pinscher

This little Dobie girl was so fractious in her animal shelter kennel that no one wanted to go in with her. Once we rescued her, she was thrilled to be free and expressed herself in a very friendly way. She was turned in to the shelter by her owners because she doesn't get along with little dogs. To be on the safe side, she probably would do best as the only dog in the home. We named her Zahara, as the name she had previously was one we couldn't pronounce or remember. Zahara is about 2 years old, with a full tail, and she's tiny, probably around 50 pounds. She an active dog that would enjoy physical activity on a regular basis.  We've noticed that Zahara is very protective of her home and her owner so we're not recommending her for a home with children.

"She does not give her heart in an instant, but                     once she is your friend, she is the most                     affectionate dog imaginable, even by Dobies' usual high standards.  Fillmore, 'where my love lies waiting silently for me' pretty well covers our relationship (well maybe not always entirely silent!).  Love like this could be yours!"
