With the huge influx of animals during the past 6+ months in animal shelter across the state we have been trying to focus primarily on rescuing Dobermans, as they are what most people are seeking that contact us. In Beau's case however we couldn't help ourselves from committing to saving him. He was said to be terrified and defensive, wearing a camo collar. The shelter folks said they felt sure he had been someone's loved pet and they couldn't understand was he wasn't reclaimed; perhaps something to do with the owner's health or living circumstances. Beau is only about a year old, and two weeks after he was picked up as a stray his only discomfort now seems to be with the leash. (He avoids it. We are working with him on this.) Beau lives easily with two other dogs and is friendly and happy. He weighs about 68 pounds.
