Calamity Jane (not a name we gave her!) was received from an animal shelter that requested rescue assistance because she was "not doing well" in the shelter. She had been taken in with her brother, who was adopted, so perhaps she was grieving due to being left behind. CJ is certainly an active dog, so perhaps she attempted to escape to be with her companion; we really don't know. We did, however, put her in a kennel with another young dog for companionship, and that relationship seems to work well. CJ is a young adult of average size who will need sufficient exercise and perhaps a large male companion dog for company.
