Cassius came to us from a distant animal shelter east of Reno, NV. He arrived via two air transports on Monday, August 2, and both flights were uneventful with Cassius not even being crated, with the exception of two chewed leashes, one chewed seat belt, and his involvement with a bag of French fries. Cassius was a favorite of employees at his animal shelter, and he appears to be social with at least larger female dogs. Because of his large size, strength and general demeanor, we are preferring an adult home for this boy. He is about 3 years old. Cassius was briefly adopted and did well in his new home but he showed some aggression towards the adopter's grown son when he visited.  Since they had grandkids around often, they didn't feel it was the right fit.  We haven't seen this behavior ourselves but we do agree that Cassius should be in an adult only home with a safe, secluded space to be when visitors come over.  Not all Dobies can handle a consistent disruption of their normal social circle and we think Cassius is one of those dogs that needs a more predicable life with no/very few visitors.
