Chanel flew in from upstate California for a chance at a new life but she needed a lot of help to go this point. Her animal shelter aged her at 2 years, but we think 4 is a more accurate estimate. She had what initially appeared to be a small wound on her front leg but the infection turned out to be much deeper. Thankfully, she had no structural damage to her leg but it took a long time for her soft tissue to fully heal. She has regained a lot of strength back in her leg but it remains weaker than the rest and she may have limited stamina for long distances. She is still active enough for regular walks, runs around the yard and playtime. She gets along with most larger dogs of both genders but her heart belongs to her people and she's very affectionate.
