Jerry was in rough shape when he landed in the animal shelter and thankfully we had a spot open to take him in. He was emaciated, scared, shut down and he had an injury to his back foot. Not all heartbreaking cases like his require a ton of money or massive heroics. He simply needed consistent care and time to heal. It’s the steady dedicated work in rescue that isn’t often seen because it isn’t very exciting and takes a long time.
He’s now neutered and ready to start the search for a forever home. Jerry is about 3 years old and he’s quite strong now. He’ll need someone willing to invest in his daily mental and physical needs as he can get bored and will bark if left alone outside. He is pretty social around other dogs and can live with a large female dog in the home. He will take on the role of fence patrol and he’s not a fan of cats. Due to his size, strength and daily needs we don’t think he’s the greatest choice for a family with young kids but older kids/teenagers are probably ok. We’re happy to chat more about him with potential adopters so we can find him a home where he will thrive. Send us an adoption application to get the ball rolling and let’s find Jerry a home!
