Kona is a petite Dobie girl we received recently from an animal shelter. She's 6 months old and she's at a normal weight for her build of only 37 pounds, so she will remain an extra-small Dobie. We don't think she's mixed with any other breed, though anything is possible. Upon arrival we kenneled her with Ziggy, a 15-pound male mixed breed dog who arrived weeks earlier, and she has been very compatible with him. A few days later Ziggy began coughing, possibly exhibiting kennel cough. This means Kona may be at risk even though she was vaccinated for Bordetella. Naturally we are monitoring her health for any signs of kennel cough; none have been observed over the past week.
