Leonard came to us thru another rescuer that took care of him for a little while. The most noticeable thing about Leonard are the scars around his muzzle and neck from previous trauma. Apparently, Leonard likes to bark so it is assumed that he muzzle was taped up long term to keep him quiet. As sad as we were to see the scars from his past, Leonard is ready to move on with his life. He was quite scared on arrival and jumped at our touch but once we earned his trust, he became very affectionate. He will be a devoted, attentive and intelligent companion to someone willing to give time to building trust. He is a strong, active dog that will benefit from an equally strong and active owner. He does live well with a female dog but he wasn't quite as friendly towards another male. He is also quite prey driven with cats. It is hard to tell exactly how old Leonard is but from what we can tell he may be around 5 years old.
