This is a courtesy post for a mixed breed female who is in need of a new home.  She is located in Southern California and you can contact abernero20@gmail.com with any questions or adoption interest.

Maya is a combination of multiple breeds and lives in an ideal environment with 5 fenced acres and 5 other dogs. She has been a challenge for this family though, and we're hoping to help the owners rehome her. Maya lives with children, one of whom is autistic, and she has nipped this child twice. The parents felt she should be forgiven for this because the child behaves in strange ways, which must have stressed the dog. Maya also nipped a visitor who was believed to be intoxicated, so she was again forgiven. The breaking point was reached when she jumped the perimeter fence and circled a neighbor woman, who felt threatened by the dog. Unfortunately she is able to jump fences. She is also somewhat food-aggressive with the other resident dogs. On the positive side, Maya is housebroken and can be crated for hours, even left indoors unattended for lengths of time without damaging anything or displaying separation anxiety. The ideal home for this beautiful dog will be with someone she can be with more or less all the time, like an emotional support animal. She is very loving and bonding, and she would relish this role.
