Victoria is a young female Dobie who was blinded, probably as a puppy, by someone throwing hot vinegar into her eyes. We were reluctant to put her in our rescue kennels, so she is currently fostered with adopters of ours. She has gotten along well with their two adult Dobermans, one male and one female, though the female isn't thrilled with the newcomer. They also have a backyard swimming pool, which is naturally a hazard for a blind dog.
Indoors Victoria has learned to navigate well and can even handle stairs. She's a confident dog except with new people, then she becomes insecure and growly. The fosters are working on this. Victoria likes the couch privileges, so other than her abuse that resulted in her blindness, she has been treated well. She's not housebroken yet but the fosters are working on this also.
Victoria is a lanky, awkward youngster who is probably 1-2 years old, perhaps a little more awkward due to her blindness causing her to not know exactly where to place her limbs. She would do best with another young dog that loves to play and isn't annoyed by lengthy play demands and mouthiness.
